Event – Mozambique Agribusiness Roundtable, an African Business Magazine initiative in partnership with CTA
Location – Maputo, Mozambique
Date – 25 July 2018
The African Business Roundtable brought together the Mozambique Government, multilateral and development partners as well as leading Agribusiness players in the country to discuss critical issues relating to agriculture and agro-processing, constraints the sector faces and the policy design, implementation and framework requirements so that the sector can truly thrive.
The African Business Roundtable took a holistic and multi-stakeholder approach to discuss these issues. We looked at the whole value chain and discuss key initiatives around innovative smallholder farmer schemes with a focus on supporting sustainable food systems, from local production to consumption.
The Business Roundtable primarily focused on the following key issues:
- Investing in domestic agriculture production
- Local sourcing and smallholder farming schemes
- Prioritising local manufacturing and processing
The African Business Roundtable is a strategic initiative of African Business magazine. This is part of a series of Roundtables we are organising leading on to African Green Revolution Forum 2018 that we are running in different countries across the continent.
